This is a porcelain spin made by the traditional techniques of Kakiotoshi, Yoshida-yaki. Kakiotoshi is a technique unique to draw polka dot. It makes the spin beautiful design and texture unique. The craftmen scrape off a single circle from the color soil using a drill. This technique of “Kakiotoshi” is used to put beautiful polka-dot patterns on the spin. The spin can enjoy a different pattern from the stationary state by spining. You can enjoy this time to steam tea as a lid of a teapot.
This was a single vase inspired by rice paddies, one of the original landscapes of Okuzumi. Although the shape looks like a sphere when looking from afar, you can enjoy the shadow and depth of light with a step like the rice paddies when viewed from a nearby point. The shape of this ball is derived from the fact that steel which was broken into human fist size is called “ball”, which is a word of the origin of the ball steel. By making it a sphere, it gave us a quiet presence and simplicity to complement the flowers. As for the material, it is assumed to use ball steel if procurement is possible, but substitution with iron etc. is also possible. By using pure rustless steel balls, it is difficult to break and creates a gentle single flower for both flowers and people.
SHRINK is an eyeglass case that be folded and stands up. I pursued the way of function as a case, and I designed a new form as a glasses case. Just by widening both ends of the case vertically by hand, it can be used as a case. By folding, the length is reduced to less than half, which makes it easy to carry around, as well as being able to use it as a glasses holder. By making the shape of the lid like a mouth, it became easier to put the glasses by deforming the lid. Because it is made of silicone, it can be washed with water even if it is dirty, and it is also excellent in waterproofness.
“Extremely thin hourglass” An hourglass with a thickness of 5 mm that you can enjoy a fluid pattern that two types of sand weave and a new form of hourglass that you have never seen before. There are two types of sand in the hourglass, and changing the orientation of the falling sand by rotating it. Apart from the conventional two-way constraints of up and down, you can change the angle of 360 degrees so you can see the expression of an hourglass that is different from usual. Lightness was born by making it thinner, and it was made into a shape that I wanted to rotate. The tabletop type can be used by simply inserting it into a recess in a wooden pedestal, and the wall type can be used in a kitchen or a washroom because the magnet is on the back.
Dishes that combine the features of Negori painting and the main tower of Negoroji are our proposal. First of all, it was about the dishes we serve at the cafe of hill of historical hill of the Road Station, so I began with designing things that convey the charm and atmosphere of this area. Therefore, attention was paid to Negoro Temple which is the concept of the station on this road and thought that regionality is born by incorporating the characteristics of the National Treasures and the Great Tower. This large tower called “multi treasure tower” is a double-storied tower, with the first layer’s plane being square and the upper layer circular. And utilizing the features of this large tower, the bottom of the cup and square of the cup for roll cake etc. is square (square), the top is circular. As a result, a simple and beautiful design was born, finished in dishes with regional characteristics.
This is an accessory “PIAXSARY” making use of the piano painting technique “PIAX” which locks the real thing. This PIAXSARY is an accessory painted genuine plants and confined the gem-like shine. Currently accessories are made of minerals and metals, but originally accessories were made by combining flowers and nuts. For reasons such as getting rotten, we do not see much what the real plants are used now. However, I thought that the beauty that the real flowers and leaves have is not defeated by minerals and metals. I designed the accessory which can further draw out the beauty of the real plant by using the technology of “Piax board” which does not deteriorate and increases in depth. PIAXSARY, accessories that dress nature.
This is a rubberband utilizing nanotech material “Photonic Rubber” which changes color when deformed. When it is deformed by pulling or compressing, the particle spacing changes at the nano level, and the color changes by shifting the wavelength of reflected light. In order to make full use of this material, I designed a rubberband that can experience new value by getting a hint from a gemstone shape. The gem changes its radiance depending on how it is cut, but this rubberband changes its radiance by deforming itself.
This is a modular hanger for socks or shoes. The design allows user to customize the hanger depending on the situation or purpose. The hanger is basically used as a hanger in wardrobes while user can use it as a hanger stand to hang shoes. User just need to add the removable base to the bottom, and then it would be a hanger stand. This is suitable to use at the door to store the shoes instead of a shoes box. In addition , all parts of the product can be removable and thin, so it is good for flat- package. It helps to deliver the product from a factory or a store to consumer.
