尺八文化を次世代に繋げるために、リコーダーの製作技術を活かした尺八。尺八は奏者の息づかいから生まれる音のゆらぎを楽しむ。同じ伝統工芸である和ろうそくにも、癒しの効果が生まれる炎の揺らぎがある。この揺らぎを楽しむ共通の文化をデザインで表現した。そしてリコーダーの製作技術を活かすことで、尺八の音色を守りつつ、この和ろうそくの形である回転体のデザインを実現した。また竹から木に材料を変更することで、製造コストが下がり、手入れ面でも扱いやすくなった。

This is a shakuhachi that makes use of recorder making techniques in order to pass on the shakuhachi culture to the next generation. We designed this shakuhachi with a Japanese candle as a motif in order to feel familiarity and newness from the common feature of its “fluctuation”. Shakuhachi is a traditional Japanese instrument, and the player can enjoy the shimmering sound produced by the player’s breath. On the other hand, the Japanese candle, which is also a traditional Japanese craft, also produces a flickering flame. The shape of the Japanese candle is also suitable for this production as it is a rotating body. In order to achieve this design while preserving the sound of the shakuhachi, we made use of recorder making techniques. The change of material from bamboo to wood has also reduced the production costs and made the candle easier to care for.

和の空間を演出し、人とペットの空間を優しく間仕切るペットゲート。日本の伝統文化として発達してきた部屋の間仕切「障子と襖」を、創業75年のふすま屋が現代風ペットゲートにリデザインした。破れにくく、拭き掃除もできる高機能障子を使用しており、インテリアとしても美しく飾れる。伝統的な和の趣を演出するペットゲート。

The pet gate creates a Japanese atmosphere and gently divides the space between people and pets. Shoji and fusuma that room partitions have developed as part of traditional Japanese culture, have been redesigned into modern pet gates by a fusuma shop that has been in business for 75 years. This is made from highly functional shoji screens that are tear-resistant and can be wiped clean, and can be beautifully displayed as an interior decoration. It can be said that the pet gate creates a traditional Japanese atmosphere.

バット加工技術によって心地よい叩き心地を生み出す、肩たたき棒。日本一の木製バット生産地である富山県南砺市の職人が製作。木の質感や温もりを楽しみながら、筋肉の疲れ・コリをほぐす。持ち手の先端部分でツボも押すことができ、1本2役。デスクワークや毎日の家事で疲れてしまった身体に最適。

Shoulder massage stick made by the technique of the bat production, producing a comfortable tap feeling. It was made by craftsmen in Nanto City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan’s largest producer of wooden bats. It can relieve muscle fatigue and stiffness while enjoying the texture and warmth of wood. The tip of the handle can also be used to press pressure points. It is ideal for people who are tired of working at a desk or doing housework every day.

アイヌ文様を木彫で施した、マキリのような靴べら。百年以上前からアイヌの人々などによって受け継がれてきた、「二風谷イタ」の伝統的な製作技術を活かした。アイヌ文様のモレウノカ（渦巻の形）やラㇺラㇺノカ（ウロコの形）が美しく彫り込まれており、日常からアイヌ文化を身近に感じることができる。

A shoehorn in the shape of a makiri, carved from wood with an Ainu pattern. This is made using the traditional skills of the Nibutani Ita, which have been passed down by the Ainu people for over a hundred years. The shoehorn is beautifully carved with the Ainu patterns of morewunoka (spiral) and raakeda raakeda noka (scales), bringing the Ainu culture closer to the everyday.

そろばん玉の美しい形状を活かしたモビール。五感を楽しませるインテリアとして、空間にアクセントと動きを加える。風や手で揺り動かすとモビールの形が変化し、目を楽しませ、癒しを感じられる。乳児の知育玩具にも使えるモビールは、赤ちゃんが成長した後も思い出と共に部屋に飾ることができる。播州そろばんの伝統技法や素材をそのまま活かしており、伝統を身近に感じられる。

This mobile, made from a traditional Japanese abacus, is an interior design that both adults and children can enjoy with all five senses. When shaken by the wind or by hand, it rotates and changes its shape, delighting the eye. The mobile is made by craftsmen from Banshu Abacus, the largest abacus production area in Japan. The mobile can also be used as an educational toy for infants, and can be displayed in the room with memories even after the baby has grown up.

アウトドアのための風鈴。 黄金比のバランスで火箸を吊り下げており、美しい音色を奏でる。日本の伝統文化をアウトドアのフィールドで楽しめる。

A wind chime for the outdoors. Hanging fire chopsticks in the balance of the golden ratio, it produces a beautiful sound. You can enjoy Japanese traditional culture in the outdoor field.

日本一の木製バット生産地である富山県南砺市。そのバットの加工技術を活かすことによって、木の質感や温もりを楽しみながら運動できる青竹踏みを実現した。毎日踏みたくなるように、空間に馴染み、踏み心地の良い形を目指した。筋肉の疲れ・足裏のコリをほぐし、正しい姿勢になるようにサポート。

A wooden stepper that makes you want to step on every day. Nanto City in Toyama Prefecture is the largest producer of wooden bats in Japan. This is a stepper for exercise, which makes use of the processing technology of the batwhile enjoying the texture and warmth of the wood. It is shaped to fit in with your space and be comfortable to step on so that you will want to step on it every day. It relieves muscle fatigue and stiffness in the sole and helps you to have a correct posture.

大阪の伝統工芸が結集した桐箱。欄間として机に美しく飾り、大切なものを納める桐箪笥として優しく守る。大阪欄間の彫刻技術によって、鳥獣人物戯画（高山寺公認）や松竹梅、兎などの伝統文様を彫刻。大阪泉州桐箪笥の指物技術によって、物の保管に適した桐箱を製作。品格を保つための室内装飾として日本の木造住宅に飾られてきた欄間、着物などの保管箱として使われてきた桐箪笥。その欄間の装飾性と桐箪笥の実用性を受け継ぐ。、日本の伝統を身近に感じられる桐箱。

The case makes use of traditional Japanese crafts. Ranma has been decorated in wooden houses as interior decorations to maintain dignity, and Paulownia Wardrobe has been used as storage boxes in Japan for centuries. The case inherits the decorative qualities of the Ranma and the practicality of the Paulownia Wardrobes. It can be used to store glasses, watches and accessories, bringing the Japanese tradition closer to home. In addition, the case is also carved with the design of the national treasure “Chōjū-giga”,which is popular worldwide as the origin of manga and anime.

持ち運べる床の間。日本文化を凝縮した空間であり、絵画や置物を展示する空間である床の間。その意味と用途を受け継ぐ家具。お気に入りのものを美しく飾り、和を演出する。熟練技術で和紙を張り、優しく光を取り入れる。軽量で強度をもつハニカム構造を模倣し、自然の美しさと強さを持つデザインが、素材の美しさをより引き立てる。

A portable tokonoma. The tokonoma is a space where Japanese culture is concentrated and where paintings and ornaments are displayed. The furniture inherits the meaning and use of this space. It is a space where you can display your favourite things and create a sense of harmony. Japanese paper is covered with a skilled technique to let in light gently. The beauty of the material is enhanced by the natural beauty and strength of the design, which imitates the lightweight and strong honeycomb structure.

日常から備える、家具としての防災ボックス。シンプルで頑丈なことに加えて、木の素材感を活かしたデザイン。普段から暮らしの中に溶け込み、いざというときにも忘れない。目につく所に置けるように、椅子としても使えるようにした。防災用品を収納できるようになっており、木の調湿作用で湿気やカビから守る。富山の伝統文化「越中富山の置き薬」の文化を受け継ぎ、富山の木材を使い、富山の家具職人が作った防災ボックス。

A disaster box as a piece of furniture for everyday use. In addition to being simple and sturdy, it has a lovely design made of wood. It blends in with your everyday life and is not forgotten when the time comes. It can also be used as a chair so that it is always visible. It can be used to store emergency supplies, and the wood’s ability to regulate humidity protects them. This disaster prevention box is made by Toyama’s furniture craftsmen, using Toyama’s wood, and inheriting the traditional culture of Toyama.
