組紐の伸縮性や組み技術を活かした、耳への負荷を軽減するマスクバンド。さらに蓄光糸・抗菌糸・正絹の3種類の糸を組んだ組紐を開発。暗所で光り、菌の発生を抑え、肌に優しい。組紐の本来の役割は、着物の帯締め。着付けを整える・着物姿を引き立てるなど重要な役割をもっており、 それをマスクを着けるときに再現した。 「着物の帯締め」から「マスクの紐留め」へ

A mask band that reduces the load on the ears by utilizing the elasticity and braiding technique of braided cord. In addition, we have developed a braid made of three types of yarn: light-storing yarn, anti-bacterial yarn and pure silk. It glows in the dark, inhibits the formation of bacteria and is gentle on the skin. The original role of kumihimo was to fasten the obi of a kimono. Kumihimo originally played an important role in dressing the kimono and enhancing the appearance of the kimono, and we have reproduced this role when wearing a mask. From “for Kimono” to “for Mask”

自由自在に形を変えられる、錫の靴べら。純度100％の錫は手で曲げられるほど柔らかいので、自分の靴や足に馴染む。そして無理なく快適に靴を履けるので、大切な靴を傷めず長持ちさせる。さらに踵に合わせて形を変えるので、履くときの足の痛みも減らしてくれる。加えて、割れにくく、錆びにくくという錫の特性を活かしており、経年変化を楽しめる。薄さ1.5mmと携帯性に優れており、気軽に持ち歩ける。富山県高岡市で400年の歴史を持つ高岡銅器。その伝統の鋳物技法を受け継ぐ「能作」が製作する。

Transformable Shoehorn. The 100% pure tin is so soft that it can be bent to fit your shoes and feet. The shoehorn allows you to wear your shoes comfortably and without strain, so that your precious shoes are less likely to be damaged and last longer. In addition, the shoehorn changes its shape to fit the heel, which helps to reduce the pain in the foot when putting on shoes. It is also resistant to cracking and rusting, which means that it will last for many years. With a thickness of only 1.5mm, it is very portable and easy to carry around. Takaoka copperware has a history of 400 years in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture. Nousaku, which inherits the traditional casting technique, produces this product.

毎日踏みたくなる、鋳物の青竹踏み。鋳物の自由度を活かし、踏み心地の良い形状を実現した。三重県桑名市で400年の歴史をもつ、くわな鋳物。その伝統技法を受け継ぐ伊藤鉉鋳工所の職人が製作。原材料から塗装まで全て国産であり、一つ一つ手作り。堅牢で味わい深い鋳鉄を活かした、頑丈・ずれにくい・カビない青竹踏み。

A cast iron stepper that makes you want to step on every day. The design takes advantage of the freedom of casting to create a comfortable step.KUWANA IMONO has a history of 400 years in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture. The craftsmen of ITOGEN Foundry, who inherit this traditional technique, handcrafted each one. Everything from the raw materials to the coating is made in Japan, and each piece is handmade. A cast iron stepper that is sturdy, resistant to shifting and fungus.

バット職人と家具職人がコラボした、木のダンベル。日本一のバット生産地である富山県南砺市の職人達がコラボし、その技術を活かした。この木製ダンベルは、家の中でも美しく飾ることができ、時間あるときに気軽に運動できる。木の手触りや温もりを楽しみながら体を動かせ、シンプルなデザインは暮らしに馴染む。

A wooden dumbbell, a collaboration between a bat maker and a furniture maker. The craftsmen of Nanto City in Toyama Prefecture, Japan’s largest bat production area, have collaborated on this project. These wooden dumbbells can be beautifully displayed in the house and can be easily exercised when you have time. You can enjoy the warmth and touch of the wood while exercising, and the simple design will fit in with your life.

山中漆器の叢雲塗が持つ炎の揺らめく表情を活かした、お酒やコーヒーを楽しむための器。叢雲塗の表情は一つ一つ違い、同じ模様はない。さらに山中漆器の木工技術により、優しい飲み口と曲面形状の底面を実現した。スワリングできるようになっており、空気に触れさせることによって、日本酒やワインなどの味や香りの変化が楽しめる。叢雲塗の揺れる表情と形状が生み出す動きによって、癒しを感じられる。

This vessel is designed to enjoy sake and coffee with the flickering flame expression of Yamanaka Lacquerware’s Murakumo-nuri. Each piece of Murakumo-nuri is unique and there is no two pieces are alike. Furthermore, Yamanaka Lacquerware’s woodworking techniques have created a gentle drinking mouth and a curved shape bottom. It can be swirled, and by exposing it to air, the taste and aroma of sake or wine can be changed. The movement created by the swaying expression and shape of the Murakumo-nuri gives a sense of healing.

マスクを干せて飾れるハンガー。コロナ禍で不織布マスクや布マスクの需要が急増した。だが、そのマスクを繰り返し使うために洗濯し、干すための道具がなかった。そこで美しい線材加工技術を活かし、マスクハンガーをデザインした。4枚のマスクを干せて飾れる実用性と暮らしに馴染むデザイン性を兼ね備えている。素材には純度99.9％の銅を使用し、銅の優れた抗菌性、耐久性、美しさを活かした。

A Hanger for drying and decorating masks. The Corona disaster has led to a surge in demand for non-woven and cloth masks. However, there were no tools to wash and dry the masks for repeated use. So we designed a mask hanger using the wire processing technology. The mask hanger can hang up to four masks and can be used for decoration. The material used is 99.9% pure copper, which has excellent antibacterial properties, durability and beauty.

大切なものを守り、美しく飾るアクセサリートレイ。黄金色のイグサ「龍鬢表（りゅうびんおもて）」が、光を反射し明るく見せ、飾る物を引き立てる。この黄金色は、年月が経って変色する事がない。数か月も手間暇かけ天日干しをすることで、この色を作り出す。龍鬢表は畳表（ござ）の一種で、床の間を明るく見せ、飾る物を引き立てる役目を持っている。その意味と役割を受け継いだ、アクセサリートレイ。創業143年の龍鬢表職人「山根商店」が製作。龍鬢表職人は国内4軒しか残っておらず、稀少な日本の伝統技術だと言える。

An accessory tray to protect and beautifully display your precious items. The golden colour of the igusa “Ryubin Omote” reflects the light and makes it appear brighter, enhancing the objects on display. This golden colour will not change over the years. This colour is produced by drying in the sun for several months. Ryubin Omote is a kind of tatami mat, which has a role to brighten up the tokonoma (alcove) and to enhance the decorations. This is an accessory tray which inherits this meaning and role. This tray is made by Yamane Shoten, a craftsman of Ryubin Omote, which has been in business for 143 years. There are only four Ryubin Omote craftsmen in Japan, so we can say that this is a rare Japanese traditional technique.

ひな人形の職人が作る、リンゴのオブジェ。「節句に限らず1年を通して、江⼾⽊⽬込⼈形を⼿にする機会を増やしたい」という思いから、毎日飾りたくなる、人形のような林檎が生まれた。起き上がりこぼしになっており、押しても倒れることなく揺れる。リンゴは平和や愛の象徴として世界中で親しまれており、縁起物の「起き上がりこぼし」としてギフトにも最適。主に雛人形や五月人形などを手掛ける、江戸木目込人形の職人が製作。素材には西陣織・金沢箔を用いており、3つの伝統工芸がコラボした縁起物。

An apple object, made by a Hina doll craftsman. We wanted to give people more opportunities to display Edo kimekomi doll throughout the year, not just at Sekku. That’why this apple is produced to be displayed every day. The apple is shaped like an upside-down doll, and when pushed, it shakes without falling over. The apple is loved all over the world as a symbol of peace and love, and as a good luck charm, it makes a great gift. It is made by Edo kimekomi doll craftsmen who mainly make Hina dolls and May dolls. The materials used are Nishijin-Ori and Kanazawa-Haku, and the three traditional crafts have collaborated to make this lucky charm.

美しい日本の花をモチーフにしたダンベル。通常のダンベルは使っていない時は空間に馴染まず、置き場所にも困る。日本の花をモチーフにし、木で製作することで、木の手触りや温もりを楽しみながら運動できる。持ち手部分は手の形に合わせてあり、持ち心地が良く、手によく馴染む。そして先端部分が花の形になっており、使っていない時はインテリアとして映える。インテリア性と機能性を両立した、隠さずに魅せるダンベル。製作は東京の伝統工芸品である東京三味線の職人が手掛ける。三味線職人は、荒木から手作りの工程で作り上げる三味線製作の技術を持ち、木という素材や木の加工を知り尽くした職人だと言える。その木を熟知した三味線職人の技術を用いて、ダンベルを作り上げる。

Wooden dumbbells in the shape of a beautiful Japanese flower. Ordinary dumbbells do not fit in the space when not in use and are difficult to place. These dumbbells are made of wood and have a Japanese flower motif, so you can enjoy the warmth and touch of wood while exercising. The handle is made to fit the shape of your hand, making it comfortable to hold and comfortable to hold. The tip is in the shape of a flower and looks good as an interior decoration when not in use. These dumbbells are both functional and decorative, and are not hidden. The dumbbells are made by Tokyo shamisen craftsmen, a traditional craft in Tokyo. Shamisen craftsmen are skilled in making shamisen by hand from rough wood, and have a thorough knowledge of the wood material and its processing. The shamisen craftsman’s mastery of the wood allows him to create the dumbbells.

組紐職人の熟練の組み技術によって、蓄光撚糸を組み込んだ組紐。太陽や蛍光灯の光に当てることで蓄光し、夜や暗所で蛍のように優しくぼんやり光る。ブレスレットとして着けて、夜の散歩を楽しんだり、夜間災害の際には居場所を確認したりできる。糸を様々な技法を用いて1本の紐を組む、日本の伝統工芸である組紐。その老舗工房である龍工房と共に開発を進めた。130年にも渡って組紐に取り組んできた龍工房は、組紐を活かして人を守るという思いが強く、戦時中もパラシュートの紐を組む仕事をすることで、看板を掲げ続けてきた。人を守るものを作るという信念から、防災にも役立つ、光る組紐が生まれた。

This kumihimo is made with a luminescent thread, which is incorporated by the skillful kumihimo craftsmen. When exposed to the light of the sun or a fluorescent lamp, the light accumulates and glows gently like a firefly at night or in dark places. It can be worn as a bracelet to enjoy a walk at night, or to check your whereabouts in case of a night-time disaster. Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese craft that uses a variety of techniques to make a single piece of string. RyuKobo, which has been working with kumihimo for 130 years, has a strong belief in using kumihimo to protect people, and even during wartime continued to hold up its sign by working on parachute strings. Our belief in making things that protect people led us to create shiny kumihimo, which is also useful for disaster prevention.
